Here Be Dragons

"Acá Hay Dragones" es mi intento de sintetizar todas las experiencias, reglas y sistemas que me han hecho disfrutar de este hobby en un set de reglas breve que pueda usar para llevar a todos lados conmigo para jugar solo o enseñar a jugar a alguien en menos de 10 minutos esté donde sea que esté.

Basado en World of Dungeons y tomando como fuertes inspiraciones a Cairn y Wolves Upon The Coast (entre muchos otros), "Acá Hay Dragones" es un sistema donde los jugadores realizan todas las tiradas y sus probabilidades de éxito siempre son explicitas, ya que los valores a superar (Umbrales) son fijos.

Este sistema bebe de las filosofías de diseño del OSR o de La Vieja Escuela junto con nuevas corrientes del NSR o la Nueva Escuela y por lo tanto tiene: creación de personajes rápida, magia combinable mediante palabras clave, sistema de combate letal con daño fijo, lista breve de talentos y habilidades cruciales, sistema de XP enfocado en superar obstáculos con ingenio o por la fuerza y un sistema de Umbrales robusto pero flexible que deja lugar a la interpretación e improvisación.

"Here Be Dragons" is my attempt to synthesize all the experiences, rules, and systems that have made me enjoy this hobby into a brief ruleset that I can carry with me everywhere, whether to play solo or to teach someone how to play in under 10 minutes, wherever I am.

Based on World of Dungeons and drawing heavy inspiration from Cairn and Wolves Upon the Coast (among many others), "Here Be Dragons" is a system where players make all the rolls and their chances of success are always explicit, since the target numbers to beat (Thresholds) are fixed.

This system drinks from the design philosophies of the OSR (Old School Renaissance) alongside modern trends of the NSR (New School Revolution). Therefore, it features: fast character creation, modular magic by key words, a deadly combat system with static damage, a brief list of crucial talents and skills, an XP system focused on overcoming obstacles through cleverness or brute force, and a robust yet flexible Threshold system that leaves plenty of room for interpretation and improvisation.
